Cryotherapy Equipment Buying Guide

The biggest decision is how the unit gets cold, because that drives operating cost, installation and day-to-day workflow.

Electric vs. nitrogen chambers

  • Electric (nitrogen-free) chambers use refrigeration systems, so there are no nitrogen deliveries or tank storage. They typically cost more upfront but can reduce ongoing supply costs.
  • Liquid nitrogen chambers usually cost less upfront, but need regular nitrogen supply, tank storage and ventilation.

Single-chamber vs. dual-chamber electric

Most electric chambers are a single cabin. Dual-chamber designs, like the Life Cube 1 Plus, add a pre-chamber (-30°C) that users step through before the main chamber (down to -110°C). The pre-chamber lets users acclimate and helps the main chamber hold its temperature between clients. Single-chamber models, like the Life Cube 1, take up less floor space.

Whole-body vs. localized

Whole-body chambers treat the entire body in a short session. Localized systems, like portable CO2 units, target specific areas and are much more affordable. They're a common first step for practitioners.

Space, power and installation

Commercial chambers have specific requirements for floor space, ceiling height, ventilation and electrical service. Check the product specifications and plan installation before ordering. Some brands, like Life Cube, include white glove delivery, installation and staff training. We'll confirm requirements with the manufacturer for your location.

Choosing for your business

Think about your expected daily session volume, your available floor space and your staffing. High-volume studios often favor electric chambers for predictable operating costs and fast turnaround between clients. Practitioners adding cryotherapy to an existing clinic often start with a localized system and add a chamber as demand grows.

Training and support

Ask what operator training, maintenance plans and technical support come with the unit. We'll help you get answers from the manufacturer before you commit, and our lifetime support means you always have someone to call.

Cryotherapy FAQ

How long is a whole-body session?
