Boots-only vs modular systems
Pneumatic compression systems inflate air chambers inside a sleeve in a timed sequence, then release. The first decision is whether you want a self-contained pair of leg boots or a control unit that drives interchangeable attachments.
Therabody JetBoots (Boots-only)
- The pump is built into the boots: no separate control box or air hoses
- Legs only; there are no hip or arm attachments
- Battery powered and fully wireless
- JetBoots Prime from $549; JetBoots PRO Plus from $1,149
- Suits: one user, travel, a small space, a simple setup
Rapid Reboot REGEN system (Modular)
- A tabletop control unit connects by air hoses to separate attachments
- Attachments: boots (foot to thigh), hips, arms
- Runs from a wall power adapter
- REGEN control unit from $900; packages from $1,095 to $1,595
- Suits: buyers who want hips or arms covered, or more than one attachment over time
Buyer tip: If you are sure you only want leg sleeves and value portability, start with the boots-only style. If there is any chance you will want hips or arms later, a modular control unit lets you add attachments instead of buying a second system.

Chambers and pressure, explained plainly
Two specs get misread more than any other: how many chambers a sleeve has, and the pressure range in mmHg (millimeters of mercury, the same unit used on a blood pressure cuff).
What the number means (Chambers)
- A chamber is one separately inflating air pocket in the sleeve
- More chambers means the squeeze can move along the limb in smaller steps
- "Overlapping" chambers are cut so neighbors overlap and leave no uninflated gap
- JetBoots Prime and PRO Plus: 4 overlapping chambers per boot (listed)
- Rapid Reboot boots: chamber count is not listed in our product data; confirm with us
How the range is described (Pressure)
- The listed number is the target inflation pressure of the chambers
- A higher maximum is a wider adjustable range, not a better setting
- Check the step size: how finely you can adjust between low and high
- Check whether pressure is set per chamber or for the whole sleeve
| Model | Listed pressure range | Adjustment | Session time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rapid Reboot REGEN control unit | 0 to 200 mmHg | Per chamber, independently | Confirm with us |
| Therabody JetBoots PRO Plus | 20 to 100 mmHg | 5 mmHg steps | 10 to 60 min, 5 min steps |
| Therabody JetBoots Prime | Four pressure levels (mmHg values not listed) | Four levels | Adjustable (range not listed) |
Watch out: Pressure numbers are not comparable across brands unless you also know the step size and whether pressure is set per chamber. Per-chamber control (listed for the REGEN) lets you lower one zone while the rest of the sleeve runs at your chosen setting.
Wired vs wireless, and getting the size right
Compression systems are small and plug into an ordinary outlet or charge from one. The practical differences are where you can use them and how the sleeves fit.

| Hoses | Air hoses from control unit to attachment | None (pumps built into boots) | None (pump built in) |

Confirm the contents: Package pages list specs for each included attachment but do not spell out every item in the box (for example, whether arm sleeves come as a single or a pair, or whether the Arm Care Package includes a control unit). Call or text and we will confirm exactly what ships before you order.
What FDA clearance does and does not mean
Some pneumatic compression devices are regulated by the FDA as medical devices. Three products in our range state FDA clearance in their own product descriptions.
| Product | What the product description states |
|---|---|
| Rapid Reboot REGEN Compression Control Unit | FDA Class II medical device with its own 510(k) clearance |
| Therabody JetBoots PRO Plus | FDA-cleared medical device |
| Therabody JetBoots Prime | FDA-cleared |
The REGEN packages are built around the REGEN unit; the package pages themselves do not restate the clearance, so ask us for the documentation that applies to the exact configuration you buy.
510(k) in plain terms (What clearance means)
- The FDA agreed a specific device is substantially equivalent to one already legally marketed, for a specific intended use
- It is not an FDA "approval"
- It covers the device and intended use named in the clearance, not every feature or claim made about it
Documentation (What to ask for)
- The 510(k) number, which you can look up in the FDA's public database
- The intended use statement and which components it covers
- Any electrical safety listing (ETL, UL or CSA) on the control unit or charger; listings are not stated in our product data, so confirm with us
What you pay for over time
- $549 to $1,595: purchase, JetBoots Prime to REGEN Complete Package (October 2026)
- $300 to $400: per Rapid Reboot attachment added later
- 1 year: listed limited warranty, JetBoots PRO Plus; other models: confirm with us
Questions to ask before buying
- Do I want legs only, or will I want hips or arms covered later?
- How many chambers per sleeve, what pressure range in mmHg and step size, and is pressure set per chamber?
- Wired or battery? If battery, what is the run time at the settings I will use?
- What size does each user need, and what is the return or exchange policy if the fit is wrong?
- Exactly what is in the box for a package: control unit, sleeves (single or pair), hoses, adapter?
- If FDA clearance is stated, what is the 510(k) number and what does it cover?
- What warranty applies to the control unit, and separately to the sleeves?
