How the plate moves is the first decision
Every vibration plate is a platform driven by a motor. What separates them is the direction the platform travels, how far it travels (amplitude) and how many times per second it does it (frequency).
Straight up and down (Vertical / linear)
- The whole platform rises and falls as one surface.
- Usually higher frequencies with a small amplitude.
- Every VibePlate model we carry lists vertical (linear) motion.
Seesaw side to side (Pivotal / oscillating)
- The plate tilts around a center pivot.
- Feet farther from center travel farther, so amplitude depends on stance.
- Usually lower frequencies than linear plates.
Movement on several axes (Tri-plane / multi-direction)
- Combines vertical travel with side-to-side and front-to-back movement.
- Ask the maker which axes move and at what amplitude.
- Confirm motion type with us before you buy.
Note: VibePlate lists vertical (linear) motion on every model. Power Plate and Vacu Activ do not list a motion axis on our pages, so confirm it with us if it matters to you.
Home grade vs commercial grade
Compact, plug in, store away (Home)
- Power Plate lists the Personal Power Plate and my5 as consumer grade.
- Lighter units (the VibePlate Rev is 20 lb) move between rooms easily.
Built for many users a day (Studio and facility)
- VibePlate describes its 1824 and 2424 as commercial grade, with aluminum or steel decks and no plastic components.
- Larger decks (24 x 40 in, 24 x 72 in) fit floor work and stretching.
Frequency and amplitude, explained plainly
These two numbers describe the physical motion. They are the specs buyers most often misread, because a bigger number on one is not automatically "more" in a useful sense.
Cycles per second (Frequency (Hz))
- 30 Hz means the platform completes 30 up-and-down cycles every second.
- A wide range (VibePlate lists 10 to 60 Hz) gives more settings; a fixed frequency (Personal Power Plate, 35 Hz) keeps it simple.
- Check how you change it: preset buttons, 1 Hz steps or programs.
How far the plate travels (Amplitude (mm))
- The distance the platform moves on each cycle, in millimeters.
- VibePlate lists 2 mm; the Vacu Activ Vibrashape lists 10 mm across 4 intensity levels.
- Power Plate lists Low and High settings but no mm figure. Confirm with us.
Watch out: Amplitude figures are not always measured the same way. On a pivotal plate, the number usually describes the edge of the plate, not where you stand. Some makers quote peak-to-peak travel, others quote travel from center. Ask how the number was measured before comparing brands side by side.
| Model | Motion listed | Frequency | Amplitude |
|---|---|---|---|
| VibePlate Rev, Mini, 1824, 2424, 2440, YogaPlate | Vertical (linear) | 10 to 60 Hz | 2 mm |
| Personal Power Plate | Confirm with us | 35 Hz fixed | Low / High |
| Power Plate MOVE | Confirm with us | 30, 35, 40 Hz | Low / High |
| Power Plate my5 | Confirm with us | 30, 35, 40 Hz presets | Low / High |
| Power Plate my8 | Confirm with us | 30 to 45 Hz, 1 Hz steps | Low / High |
| Vacu Activ Vibrashape | Twin independent plates | 25 to 50 Hz, 5 programs | 10 mm, 4 levels |
Will it fit you, your floor and your household?
| Model | Deck or machine size | Weight rating | Unit weight (alum. / steel) |
|---|---|---|---|
| VibePlate Rev | 11 x 21 in | 1,000 lb | 20 lb |
| VibePlate Mini | 16 x 16 in | 1,000 lb | 35 lb |
| VibePlate 1824 | 18 x 24 in | 2,400 lb | 45 / 95 lb |
| VibePlate 2424 | 24 x 24 in | 2,400 lb | 45 / 100 lb |
| VibePlate 2440 | 24 x 40 in | 2,400 lb | 75 / 155 lb |
| VibePlate YogaPlate | 24 x 72 in | 2,400 lb | 120 / 250 lb |
| Personal Power Plate | 27.5 x 18.5 x 7 in | 264 lb max load | 40.4 lb |
| Power Plate MOVE | 30 x 24 x 9 in | 300 lb max load | 85 lb |
| Power Plate my5 | 27 x 38.5 x 58 in | 300 lb max load | 153 lb |
| Power Plate my8 | 33 x 39 x 59 in | Confirm with us | 245 lb |
| Vacu Activ Vibrashape | 104 x 100 x 131 cm | 120 kg (about 264 lb) user | Confirm with us |
Watch out: A 2,400 lb rating and a 300 lb rating are not measuring the same thing. One may be a static deck load, the other the maximum user weight while running. Ask which one you are looking at.
Plate only or plate with column? (Columns and handles)
- Plate-only units (Rev, Mini, Personal Power Plate, MOVE) store under a bed or in a closet.
- Column models (my5, my8, Vibrashape) add handles and a control screen but need a permanent spot.
Not listed on any page (Noise)
- None of our product pages list a decibel figure. Confirm with us.
- Vibration travels into floors, so upper floors and shared walls deserve thought.
- A rubber mat (included with Power Plate models) sits between plate and floor.
Plan the spot before the plate arrives
Most plates plug into a normal outlet. The exceptions matter, so check the power line on the product page before you order.
- 110V / 15A: VibePlate 1824: standard household outlet
- 100 to 240V: Personal Power Plate, 160 to 185 W nominal
- 230V / 1 kW: Vacu Activ Vibrashape, single phase, max draw
- Voltage. The Vacu Activ Vibrashape lists 230VAC / 50Hz single-phase power. That is not a standard U.S. wall outlet. Plan for a 230V circuit from a licensed electrician, and confirm with us that the unit is configured for U.S. 60 Hz supply. Power draw for the other VibePlate and Power Plate models is not listed on our pages; confirm with us.
- Floor. Use a level, solid floor. Heavier units (my8 at 245 lb, steel YogaPlate at 250 lb) need a permanent spot and a clear delivery path.
- Clearance. Leave room on all sides to step on and off. Column models need headroom for the console (the my8 stands 59 in tall).
- Delivery. The my8 includes white glove delivery and installation. The VibePlate Mini and YogaPlate list shipping in 1 to 2 business days; the 1824 and YogaPlate list no assembly required.
What the paperwork does and does not tell you
UL, cUL, ETL, CSA (Electrical listing)
- A listing means a sample was tested to an electrical safety standard.
- The Personal Power Plate lists CE, PSE, UL, cUL, FCC ID, IC ID and TELEC RF.
- Other models do not list a mark on our pages. Ask us for the listing.
Clearance is specific (FDA)
- A 510(k) clearance covers one device for the specific use stated in that clearance.
- None of the plates we carry claim FDA clearance on their product pages.
- If any seller says a plate is cleared, ask for the 510(k) number and what it covers.
What you pay on day one, and after
Vibration plates have few consumables. The real differences are the purchase price, delivery, electrical work for 230V units and how long the warranty runs.
| Cost item | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Purchase | From $1,036 (VibePlate Rev) to $13,500 (Vacu Activ Vibrashape), as of October 2026. |
| Delivery and setup | White glove delivery and installation included with the my8. The VibePlate 1824 and YogaPlate list no assembly required. Ask us about freight for heavy steel decks. |
| Electrical | Standard outlet for most plates; a 230V circuit for the Vibrashape. |
| Electricity | Low for short timed sessions (the Personal Power Plate lists 160 to 185 W). The Vibrashape lists up to 1 kW with its heaters running. |
| Accessories | Power Plate includes a strap set and rubber mat; the my5 and my8 add dust covers. Ask whether guided content on the my8 has any ongoing fee. |
| Warranty | VibePlate: limited lifetime. Power Plate MOVE, my5, my8: 3 years hardware, 1 year electronics and labor. Personal Power Plate: 1 year each. Vibrashape: confirm with us. |
Your pre-purchase checklist
- Which way does the platform move: vertical, pivotal or multi-direction?
- What frequency range does it cover, and how do I change it?
- What is the amplitude in mm, and how was it measured?
- Is the weight rating a static load or the maximum user weight in use?
- What voltage and plug does it need, and what is the power draw?
- Which electrical safety listing does it carry (UL, ETL, CSA)?
- How loud is it, and does vibration carry through my floor?
- What does the warranty cover, for how long, and who does the repair?
- Is it rated for home use, commercial use, or both?
